Use the twirl effect to swirl the picture in a way that looks pleasing to you. Don't expect the picture to continue looking "like something", just go with the flow. If you can't find a twirl that suits you, you might try pinch, punch, warp or another effect, until you find one that interests you.

Use the kaleidoscope effect (or KPT 3's twirl set to kaleidoscope) next. Start out with 4 or 6 divisions and use more or fewer until you get a preview look that you like. If you like the look enough, you can skip over to Figure 7 on page 4. Otherwise, continue on to page 3.
