A little history of Reiki and Seichim Art by Robyn A
Reiki and Seichim are methods of channeling "universal life force energy" to someone or something, for healing purposes. They are not religiously oriented and do not require belief in any religious system to be used effectively for healing. Symbols are used in both methods as a way of directing or augmenting the energy for healing.
"I learned Seichim in 1993 and 1994, as an alternative to the then-expensive Reiki. In October, 1994 I became a Seichim Master/Teacher of the 7th facet. My Seichim teacher instructed me to "draw the symbols everywhere" as part of the learning process of integrating the symbols into the self. At no point was I instructed that they were secret or to be hidden. Quite to the contrary, I was told again to draw them however and whereever I wanted, and as often as I wanted. Being artistically inclined, I did so. I drew them with my finger, with pens, with brushes, with markers, with pencils. I drew them on paper, on the walls, on furniture, on shoes, on clothing. Thus encouraged, I have always shared the Seichim symbols.
"In 1997, after the $10,000 price tag for doing so had vanished, I became a Reiki Master/Teacher. In learning Reiki, I was amazed to find that some Reiki "schools" teach that the symbols are not only sacred, but secret also. I never did agree with that teaching, as I believe that the sacred should be a part of every day life. However, out of respect for my Usui Reiki Master, I have never, and will not, share or publish the versions of the Reiki symbols she passed on to me. I have shared and will continue to share the versions of the Reiki symbols passed on to me by my contemporary Reiki Master, with his knowledge and blessing.
