Preparing for Energy Work
Preparing for Energy Work???? Many people seem to have discovered that we can make energy do things! We're using Reiki and channeling and other energy things more than ever. In our excitement, though, many of us seem to have forgotten something important: preparing to do energy work.
When we consciously tap into universal energy by any method, we pull through a lot more energy than our systems are accustomed to dealing with. In order for our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual systems to handle the energy we're working with comfortably,we need to prepare for it. If we don't prepare for it, we have more strange effects like lightheadedness, dizziness, and disorientation.
Grounding, clearing and shielding are three tools that can help us with that. Grounding is connecting up with earth energy, i.e., getting our feet on the ground. Clearing is shaking out "garbage" in our energy fields. And shielding is protecting ourselves from unwanted energies coming in. Properly used, these three things prepare us to safely do the energy work we're so excited about.
