Hand Positions for Energy Healing

These are Hand Positions for use in Energy Healing Methods such as Reiki and Seichim when working with others.

Important General Information About All Hand Positions

*****Never touch a person in a spot that they would consider private. Be respectful of how they feel and what their needs are. If in doubt, ask the client.

*****Never press your hands hard on the client. Your hands should lightly touch the client. This takes some practice to perfect.

*****Never put your hands on a wound or burn. This is for the safety and health of both you and the client. You can place your hands about 2 inches above the wound or burn. This will allow the Reiki to work on the injury.

*****Always wash your hands before and after a treatment. Be sensitive to the type of soap you use as most soap has added scents that the client may have problems with.

*****Always keep the fingers together. This focuses the energy better.

*****It is important to start any treatment with the client and yourself being comfortable.

These hand positions are designed to be done with the client starting laying on their back.  They are set up in this particular order for flow and continuity, and to be easier on the practitioner.  Remember, however, that positions can be added or deleted as the situation warrants.
