Where'd the Karuna® Reiki go?
You may notice a lack of information about Karuna Reiki® here on my site in spite of the fact that I'm a Karuna® Reiki Master. This is because Karuna Reiki® is trademarked by the International Center for Reiki Training and they have specific rules about how information is shared on this method. They acknowledged me as a registered Karuna Reiki Master until they changed their rules. While their rules are reputed to help organize their method and protect it, the bottom line is that they wanted more money in order for me to continue to be a registered teacher. In addition, they wanted me to promise that I would make any students pay them money to be a registered Karuna Reiki® certificate holder. Since the only real changes they made as far as I could see were ones that required people to pay them money, I declined to continue as a registered Karuna® Reiki Master. Thus, I do not teach Karuna® Reiki and I do not have information on the method on my site.
I believe that this method, while interesting and as valid as any other I've learned, is no more necessary to learn in order to be an energy healer than learning calculus is to be able to balance your checkbook. I don't believe any particular method is necessary to learn; I have found personally that all methods work with sincere intent on the part of the practitioner/channel. If you feel a desire to learn about it, then by all means do so. I personally loved learning it.

A quote from an email that I wrote on August 17, 2000 in response to some questions and comments asked by a person who had seen my site. This is my opinion at this point in time. "Mr. Rand has chosen to work in a specific way in order to 'legitimize' energy healing in the US. This may or may not be a useful goal. I have my doubts, but I really don't know. I'm sure he believes that 'legitimizing' energy healing, by controlling the way it's taught, etc., is the best way he can find to heal the world. I don't agree that it is, but it's certainly no worse than most efforts to heal the world, and maybe better in some ways." |
