Link Trades = More Traffic
by Robyn Harton

It's very popular today to trade links with other sites. That's because it has a two-fold benefit for all concerned.

First, you can get more traffic from having links on other people's sites. Second, some search engines rank your site higher if other sites link to yours.

How do you go about trading links? Just do a search on a search engine for sites with themes similar to yours, then ask them for a link trade.

These are tips for making link trading work better:

1) Link to their site BEFORE you ask them to link to yours. This shows them that you're serious about trading links. You can remove their link later if they do not link back to your site.

2) Make is simple for them to link to your site. In your email asking to trade links, give them all the information they need to link back to your site. You can even give them the HTML code to link back easily.

3) If you want to exchange banner links, be sure to have your banners ready. Have all your banners in one place on your site so that prospective link traders don't have to hunt them down. Give them this link in the email you send.

4) Offer a choice of text links or banner links. Some sites prefer one or the other. Don't get yourself turned down for a link trade because you have only one type.

Following these simple steps can make link trades a traffic booster for everyone.
