Making Graphics & Web Design
Work for You
Graphics and AOL
Some versions
of AOL pull a nasty little stunt of compressing graphics on
the web. They'll look fine to you in AOL, but if you download
graphics from the web, then try to use them, they'll look
awful to everyone that doesn't use AOL. To keep from having
this problem, just tell AOL not to compress your graphics.
You don't
have to be signed on to do it, just start your AOL program.
1. Click
the "my aol" button.
2. Choose "preferences."
3. When a new screen pops up, click the "www" button.
4. Click the "web graphics" tab.
5. Uncheck the box that says "use compressed graphics."
Simple
to do, and well worth it.
